ABSTRACT

This research adapted the Life Skills Scale for Sport (LSSS) into Portuguese and provided evidence for its construct validity. Study 1 included four translators and five academics who developed a Portuguese version of the LSSS (P-LSSS). During this study, evidence for the content and substantive aspects of construct validity was provided using an expert panel and 25 sports participants. Study 2 included 413 participants that completed the P-LSSS. Within this study, evidence for the structural aspect of construct validity was provided via factor analyses. Study 3 included 134 participants who completed the P-LSSS and a measure of motivation. This study provided evidence for the external aspect of construct validity, with results showing more self-determined motivation had positive relationships with participant’s life skills development. Overall, our findings provided evidence for the construct validity of P-LSSS scores. Researchers and practitioners can use the P-LSSS to assess life skills development within sports participants.  相似文献

Teaching for social justice: A research synthesis on Asian American and Pacific Islander teachers in U.S. schools

This article examines social justice in teaching and teacher education with a focus on the experiences, pedagogies, and instructional practices of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) teachers. We synthesized 37 peer-reviewed research publications on AAPI teachers’ experiences and contributions to diversity and social justice. The results show AAPI teachers disrupting Whiteness through beliefs, pedagogies, and practices that value multiple perspectives and marginalized voices. Policy implications include supporting cultural and linguistic diversity in teacher education programs and schools and providing opportunities for teachers to engage in critical praxis regarding their racial identities and issues of equity in education.  相似文献

Abstract

Academic library collections have been built and shaped by a focus on dominant voices and perspectives. In order for collections to reflect the value librarianship places on diversity as well as represent multiple perspectives and serve users of diverse backgrounds and identities, collections need to be assessed for coverage of content related to diversity. This article discusses the challenges inherent in engaging in such an assessment, discusses collection assessment methods, and describes an analysis performed on the Penn State University Libraries collections focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer content.  相似文献

Abstract

Supporting global health priorities through the development of robust health science librarianship partnerships is of significant importance. Increased demand for synthesizing evidence-based information, collating quality resources, and increasing research productivity to improve human health requires integration of library and information science skills and expertise. The Health Sciences Library (HSL) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), exists to be an indispensable partner in health information and knowledge, teaching and learning, and research. As global efforts at UNC expanded, the HSL sought to ensure that our global engagement strategy and integration were aligned with campus priorities and partner needs. The HSL created a global research partnership plan: identify resources that improve efficiency, increase access to information, build in-country capacity and expertise—all while strengthening collaborations across multiple countries. Creating a meaningful and sustainable engagement strategy was central to envisioning our path forward and can be used as a framework for consideration by librarians in similar settings.  相似文献

[目的/意义] 经典阅读处于学生通识教育的核心环节，大学经典推荐书目在"读什么""怎么读"的核心教育环节发挥着重要作用。分析和确立大学经典推荐书目的遴选标准，探究其发展特点，对于优化经典书目编制、推动经典阅读，具有十分重要的意义。[方法/过程] 通过网络调研和电话访谈梳理部分"双一流"高校的官方经典推荐书目，分析我国高校经典推荐书目的产生过程与背景。[结果/结论] 大学经典推荐书目在遴选上重视中国传统经典，也注重借鉴西方经典；人文社会科学经典与自然科学经典遴选相对均衡；发掘元典书目新生，重视充实有价值的影响书目。同时，在阅读推广实践中，呈现出尊重阅读主体、重视首因效应发挥、丰富创新推介载体，以及差异化、层次化、定制化的发展特点，体现出高校党政领导的重视和图书馆的主动作为。  相似文献   

图书馆科普教育现状与发展路径探究——基于25个省市88家科普教育基地调查

[目的/意义] 图书馆肩负着实施科普教育的法定职责，拥有品种多样、内容丰富的科普文献与信息资源的图书馆，在开展科普教育方面具有得天独厚的优势。图书馆科普教育起步比较早，2005年，中国图书馆学会成立科普与阅读指导委员会；但在图书馆业界，科普教育只是零星的点缀式服务创新探索，尚未成为常态化服务项目。在依法治馆、创新发展的新时代，寻求图书馆科普教育发展路径具有较强理论和实践意义。[方法/过程] 通过互联网、微信等社交网络平台，对图书馆科普教育基地建设的状况进行调研，从基地等级、基地类型、基地数量、区域分布、有效期限以及认定依据等方面进行深入分析，并对图书馆实施科普教育提出发展路径以供选择。[结果/结论] 图书馆科普教育应坚持基地建设与科普服务相结合、阅读推广与全民科普相融合、科普与游学并举等策略，走设施、资源、服务"三位一体"的持续稳健协调发展之路。  相似文献

[目的/意义] 以中国科学院文献情报中心"中国科讯"为例，分析专业图书馆应急科学传播服务的举措及成效，为应急事件下专业图书馆科学传播服务提供借鉴。[方法/过程] 梳理新冠肺炎疫情期间"中国科讯"微信公众号推送的服务内容，从日均用户增长和阅读量分析用户对不同类型内容的关注程度，提出应急科学传播服务的思考。[结果/结论] 疫情期间，"中国科讯"日均用户增长明显，电子资源保障类内容阅读量最高，其次为新冠病毒科技攻关进展相关内容、科普类直播和信息素养教育直播观看人数达到数万人。应急事件下，专业图书馆应加强特色服务的宣传、加强信息甄选和审核机制，重大公共卫生事件下应急科学传播工作预案缺失也需引起重视。  相似文献
